A little tidbit about Janet and Bill Gradwohl:
They first came to Roatan in 2000 and continued to visit over the next 4 years. They immediately saw the need for good New York bread on the island. One of Janet’s passions is baking. She won two baking competitions in the USA. The TV show, “American Test Kitchen” and “Cooks Illustrated”, a cooking magazine. To sharpen her skills she attended the French Culinary Institute in New York where she learned to run a bakery. They brought state of the art equipment with them to Roatan because they were not willing to compromise the quality of their baked goods. Quality can be tasted, and that is exactly what you get when you sample their products…great taste! They also import all their deli meats, and bakery ingredients. Janet is also a mathematician and software developer, and Bill is an Electrical Engineer and software developer. They have run a successful software development and micro computer network integration company for 25 years and still service clients remotely via Internet. Bill used his engineering skills to build the bakery to precise qualifications to ensure the highest quality bread possible in Roatan. You may look around and see the beautiful Caribbean, lush vegetation, and beautiful sunsets, BUT if you close your eyes, you will taste New York Bakery excellence!
