Social tourism is the combination of tourism with volunteer work. It can be as simple as remembering to bring a can of formula in your suitcase for the babies born with aids on the Island; to hands on work projects.

Garifuna Folklore Punta Dance

The Roatan Garifuna play their drums and do the Punta Dance on West Bay beach during Easter week or Semana Santa. The group is the Danza Garifuna Nuwa Vida. Punta is a dance where people form a circle around two dancers a male and a female. There are two Garifuna playing drums while everyone else in the circle is singing. Roatan Iguanas are Kid Friendly
