Hello from Roatan Island

Roatan - Miniature Pineapple (Ananas nanus) a smaller cousin to the common edible pineapple, it grows to 18 inchs tall, with spider-like, strappy leaves with small spines. The plant will produce an upright stalk topped with flowers that fuse to form a miniature pineapple about the size of a golf ball. Just one of the many wonders to enjoy when you tour the gardens at Carambola Botanical Gardens.
