| Chris with "Ocean Connections" cheerfully commented that despite Wilma all diving students were able to complete their classes! Busy starting new PADI Certification Classes just 5 days afterWilma, he took a moment to say they were already diving on both sides of the island. A large group of divers were waiting in La Ceiba to come to Roatan when they were informed their was no transportation to Utila. " Crowded and busy" was how one dive shop owner described West End. |

| Partcles moving at high velocity create higher radiation such as gamma rays in the EM spectrum. Well, the only side of high speed in Roatan was RAIN ! Dense rays of rain and rain and rain. Some flooding, falling trees, and ominous skies for hours and hours was Gamma's signiture on Roatan. Most folks used Gamma as a chance to be at home with family! The only side affect reported in Roatan was "cabin fever". |

Honduras however was another story. Josiah Lash traveling in La Ceiba emailed home on 11/21/05, "We're still getting rain, so we can't fly yet, the bridges are still out they say, so we can't bus yet. This storm did a lot of damage. A lot of people died. We had at least 12 inches of rain in 12 hours at some points, maybe more. La Ceiba (3rd biggest city) is still cut off from the rest of the country by road and plane."
In Roatan, The Caribbean, and Central America, there is never a dull moment ! Life stays simple and flexible because you never know what is around the corner! Those lucky enough to live here and vacation here truly know tropical paradise which ever ray beams. "By the way, today 11/23/05, only high velocity sun rays are reported over Roatan and Honduras!" |
