"The Wall"

This mural that we now think of as “The Wall”, was a joint project between the women and children of Familias Saludables, the AIDS support project here in Roatan, and ten teenage girls from Rossland, B.C., Canada. The girls belong to Interact, the teen version of Rotary and raised money with the support of their local Rotary to do several projects here in Roatan. The concept for the wall was created out of a both the need to memorialize family members and friends who have died, as well as educate the public about both the stigma of AIDS as well as the need for protection.
